Importing csv files

I am struggling with the import function for a few days now..
Meanwhile, I found out, how the csv files have to be written for the import to work, with dynamic attributes and stuff.

Now I've ended up with two questions.

1: Is it somehow possible to import with a csv that is in the fileadmin folder and not on my computer? I've tried the URL field, but of course that didn't work due to missing rights I guess.

2: How do I manage to load pictures with the import? When adding a single new product, everything works fine, but at the import, the image settings are just ignored. I would even be fine with doing the downseizing and watermark by myself, but it doesn't even write the paths into the database. With ca. 5000 products waiting, I can't upload the images for every single product manually..
Is ther a solution/am I doing something wrong?

You can enter a url, but not (yet) a relative url. So instead of adding: fileadmin/myfile.csv you have to define http://www.domain.com/fileadmin/myfile.csv.

Image settings should be obayed 100%. We use the importer ourselves too for importing tons of products and the watermarking + thumbnail creation is automatic, just like when adding 1 product manually.

Make sure your CSV contains full urls to the images (ie http://www.domain.com/myfolder/productimage.jpg)

Not that I didnt try that, but I've got it working now, after changing the rights on our webserver.

But I'm gonna keep the Skype thing in mind, thanks icon_smile.gif
