Hello Multishop-Experts,

I build my first shop using Multishop-Extension. The shop is working well under all tested platforms with one exception. In IE 8 under Windows XP, after showing the cart any further action (clicking update, back or procced) erases the cart. So it is not possible to order under this Platform/Browser-Combination. Since this Platform is still in use by many Users, this is a serious issue.

Any ideas? I appreciate any help.

Thank you for any input...

Multishop doesn't have any issues with Internet Explorer 8. I double tested it, but on our sites it's working flawless.

After testing your site I can see it's not working in IE8. I believe this has something to do with the TYPO3 session and not with Multishop itself.

When opening the site for the first time I see the session id is passed to the deeplinks. Apparently the cookie can't be set properly?

Which TYPO3 version are you running Multishop on?

Thank you for your relpy.

Multishop (v1.0.39) is running under Typo3 v4.5.7.

I will check, if I find somthing usefull in the IE8-Settings. I found some problems in IE8-JS-execution outside the shop too, i.e. in the image-viewer (camera-icon), which should stay on the page and not link back to another page when clicking on that image. I deactivated the a-tag with JS, but IE8 seems to ignore that.

Maybe there is a problem due to double jQuery-inclusion? I will check this tomorrow.

I managed to get the shop working on XP/IE8 - at least on my installation. I really don't know how I did it. The local development-site started to work after opening the IE8-Settings and closing them without any changes after looking throu the options.

This didn't worked on the live-site. But after inclusion of an IE-Hacks CSS-file the site worked in IE8.

But the question remains open. What was/is the origin of this issue?

Could sombody, please, verify, if there are still problems in XP/IE8? It's working on my installation, but I received some user-comment, that there are problems. But I don't know, if thes problems correspod to individual misconfiguraton or gerneral problems of IE8.

Thank you for your input...

I also recommend to update to version 2.0.3, cause you using an older version.

Yes, I'm just upgrading the backup-site to see, if there are any problems in the upgrade procedure.

Hello again,

the issue with IE8 is not solved, yet banghead.gif But probably it has something to do with the PHP-Configuration of the server. IE8 seems to have problems starting the PHP-Session. Setting:

session.use_only_cookies = 1
session.use_trans_sid = 0
(in php.ini)

or

php_flag session.use_only_cookies on
php_flag session.use_trans_sid off
(in .htaccess)

helps. Now the browser 'sometimes' succeeds starting the session, but at times the problem is back.

So still hunting for a solution. How do you configure your PHP-Sessin?

Annoying PHP issue. You could try:

session.save_path = "/var/lib/php/session"
session.use_cookies = 1
session.use_trans_sid = 0
session.referer_check =
session.name = PHPSESSID
session.auto_start = 0
session.cookie_lifetime = 0
session.cookie_path = /
session.cookie_domain =
session.serialize_handler = php
session.gc_probability = 1
session.gc_divisor = 1000
session.gc_maxlifetime = 1440
session.bug_compat_42 = 0
session.bug_compat_warn = 1
session.referer_check =
session.entropy_length = 0
session.entropy_file =
session.cache_limiter = nocache
session.cache_expire = 180
session.hash_function = 0
session.hash_bits_per_character = 5
